Painting on metal requires a high level of preparation and knowledge to ensure satisfactory results.

Common Mistake #1

Inadequate Surface Prep

-Not cleaned well enough to eliminate dirt, oil, chalk and other contaminants

-Not sanded or abraded to a level that accommodates the type of paint you’re using

-Wrong primer was used

Common Mistake #2

Paint Applied During Poor Weather

-Temperature too hot or cold can affect the paint’s ability to cure

-Humidity too high

-Rain and/or fog in the area

Common Mistake #3

Existing Coat Aged Too Long

-Allowing a paint coat to age for too long can affect the longevity of the new coat
